Healthcare and Conflict

As of March 2009, the Ukrainian government planned on reforming the health care system, by the creation of a national network of family doctors and improvements in the medical emergency services. Ukrainian Prime MinisterYulia Tymoshenko wanted (in November 2009) to start introducing a public healthcare system based on health insurance in the spring of 2010.[2]

Global Health Careers

A series of evenings with Student MedAid London with interesting talks from passionate academics, researchers and clinicians about their careers, and meet our team . Find out more about Student MedAid London, our plans for the year and how to get involved.

Student MedAid is a community interest company that aims to collect unused medical resources from local hospitals and re-distribute them to under-resourced healthcare institutions abroad.

We have two main objectives:

๐Ÿ’™ to increase healthcare accessibility by supplying medical equipment to resource-limited settings

๐Ÿ’™ to increase awareness and education on sustainability in global health.

InciSioN UK Collaboration

๐Ÿ“In August 2022, InciSioN UK and Student MedAid London run a social media collaboration on environmental sustainability and global surgery.

๐ŸŒŽ Global surgery is a branch of global health that deals with promoting safe access to surgical care regardless of financial background. InciSioN UK is a national student and junior doctor lead initiative that promotes this.

๐ŸŒŽ Amongst the topics discussed were the impact of surgery on global climate, that of climate on health, and how green technologies could be used to better global surgery.
